Vladimir specializes in resolving a wide range of complex commercial disputes, including disputes with an international element and complex cross-border cases involving concurrent proceedings in both Russian and foreign courts, as well as in international commercial and investment arbitration. Vladimir has significant experience in litigation under the rules of various Russian and international arbitration institutions, as well as cases involving the recognition and enforcement of foreign judicial and arbitral decisions.

Qualification

Representing a Russian atomic energy corporation in a number of parallel commercial disputes totaling several billion US dollars.

The dispute is related to the termination of a nuclear power plant construction project.

International Commercial Arbitration

Representing a shipping company in an international commercial arbitration administered under the SIAC Rules.

The dispute arose out of non-performance of shipbuilding contracts.
International Commercial Arbitration

Representing the world’s largest natural gas exporter in ad hoc arbitration.

The dispute was related to supply contracts governed by Swedish law.
International Commercial Arbitration

Advising a Russian state corporation in a dispute in US federal courts over attachment and execution of its property under a court judgement against the Russian Federation.

Representing a client in an international investment dispute against a sovereign state governed by the Rules of ICSID AF.

Representing a major Russian businessman in connection with an administrative and judicial challenge of sanctions imposed by the EU, Switzerland and the UK.

As a result, managed to obtain cancellation of restrictive measures imposed on the client in two jurisdictions.

Representing a Russian state corporation in a corporate dispute resolved in the courts of Guernsey, British Virgin Islands and Luxembourg.

Representing a nationalised Irish bank in Russian multi-billion dollar bankruptcy cases and parallel litigation proceedings in Republic of Ireland, UK, Cyprus, Panama and Belize.

The project also involved representation in corporate and real estate disputes.
Insolvency and Cross-Boarder Insolvency

Representing a contractor in a dispute with a leading European telecommunications company in arbitration proceedings administered by the SCC.

Representing a shareholder of a major Russian grocery chain in a corporate dispute before Russian courts, as well as the LCIA and BVI courts.

Representing a shareholder of a Russian agricultural producer in a corporate dispute administered under the SCC Rules, as well as before the courts in Cyprus and Russia.

The case also involved conclusion of an amicable settlement agreement.
International Litigation
International Commercial Arbitration

Representing an international trading company in enforcing a FOSFA arbitral award for damages against a Russian grain trader.

Representing asset management companies of a private pension fund in the Russian courts in disputes with the Central Bank of Russia and state-owned Russian banks.

The dispute was related to challenges of transactions carried out as part of bank CVA procedures as well as in the process of amicable settlement negotiations.
Domestic Litigation

Vladimir is a Vice-Chairman of the ICC Russia Commission on Arbitration.

He also represents clients in disputes involving states, in particular, in international investment disputes and in cases of challenging foreign sanctions. In addition, Vladimir is a recognized expert in cross-border bankruptcy and restructuring. Vladimir’s clients include leading companies across a range of industries, such as oil and gas, chemicals, banking and investment, telecommunications, construction and infrastructure, nuclear, engineering, and other sectors. Before joining AB DGP, Vladimir was working in leading Russian law firms for many years, and before that, also in legal departments of large industrial holdings. Vladimir regularly acts as an arbitrator and is included in the recommended lists of arbitrators of Russian arbitration centres.
