Timur specialises in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, cross-border and domestic litigation. He has represented clients in arbitration proceedings administered under the LCIA, LMAA, SIAC, HKIAC Rules as well as in enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Russia.

Representing clients in one of Russia’s largest class actions relating to a bond default by the country’s largest geological holding company with class action claims exceeding 4.5 bln RUB.

Representing a Russian atomic energy corporation in a number of parallel commercial disputes totaling several billion US dollars.

The dispute is related to the termination of a nuclear power plant construction project.

Representing a Hong Kong company in an LCIA arbitration re a $50m dispute with a European company arising from a loan agreement related to a mining project.

Advising the Russian Federation in parallel proceedings concerning the nationalisation of state assets and assessing risks of such nationalisation across various European and Asian jurisdictions.

Advising a leading Swiss energy company in concurrent LMAA arbitrations against foreign counterparties, relating to contract termination due to sanctions.

Advising a global chemical-industry leader on aspects of EU and US sanctions law in the context of English court proceedings and an ICC arbitration against several international companies.

Advising a Singapore-based trading firm in a SAC arbitration against a Swiss energy company under a coal-supply agreement governed by the CISG.

Representing a leading international payments-systems provider in enforcement proceedings in Russia of a DIAC award.

Advising a leading Russian transport-logistics group on challenges to UK personal sanctions.

Representing a Russian company in proceedings against an international motor racing championship operator over sanction-caused debt recovery in the High Court of Justice of England and Wales.

Advising a Russian company in connection with proceedings in a foreign court on interim measures imposed in support of a litigation process in a third country.

His experience covers disputes in the Energy & Natural Resources, Chemical Industry and Transportation sectors.

Prior to joining DGP, Tim worked at a major Russian law firm. He also interned at the Department of International Law and Cooperation of Russia’s Ministry of Justice, contributing to the drafting of international civil-procedure treaties, the BRICS investment-arbitration draft rules, and opinions on private international law and arbitration.
