Sergey Komolov is a Partner in our Corporate/M&A practice. Sergey focuses on corporate transactions, regulatory matters and financing both in Russia and abroad and has multi-year experience in advising clients on acquisitions, joint ventures, public and private financing, banking and corporate restructurings, and general corporate and transactional matters. Sergey participated in innovative M&A transactions and restructurings and other complex projects in Russia and abroad. His clients include major Russian companies.
Sergey also has vast experience in cross-border court and arbitration proceedings and handling major cases in London, New York and other jurisdictions.

Sergey’s expertise includes transaction and project support as well as regulatory practice.
Previously, Sergey was a partner and head of the Moscow office of the international law firm King & Spalding. Before that, he headed the legal department of one of the largest banks in Russia, where he oversaw complex projects and transactions, including private and syndicated loans, transactions with bonds and promissory notes, securities and derivatives, structured finance deals, establishment of investment funds, securitizations, and bank mergers. Thanks to his experience working in the Legal Department of the World Bank, Sergey understands the rules and practices of international financial institutions.
Before beginning his legal career, Sergey had a distinguished career in the Russian diplomatic service. He is the author of several articles on legal and political issues published in leading international and Russian journals.
