Mikhail has extensive experience in cross-border and domestic litigation, investment and international commercial arbitration under UNCITRAL, ICC, SIAC, LCIA, LMAA, and RSPP rules, as well as in interstate disputes before the International Court of Justice.

Representing a shipping company in an international commercial arbitration administered under the SIAC Rules.

The dispute arose out of non-performance of shipbuilding contracts.

Representing a Russian bank in international commercial arbitration under ICC Rules arising out of non-performance of a supply agreement.

Representing a European cruise company in an international commercial arbitration governed by the LMAA Rules.

Defending a Russian coach in a sports dispute involving breach of disciplinary rules.

Representing a construction company in a series of international and domestic commercial arbitrations related to the quality of construction works under RSPP Rules.

Representing a European cruise company before the High Court of England and Wales in proceedings seeking to arrest a ship and obtain an anti-arbitration injunction.

Representing an entrepreneur in a dispute over the ownership of shares in the High Court of England and Wales.

Advising an entrepreneur on the recognition and enforcement in Belize of a judgment of the High Court of England and Wales.

Advising a client on obtaining an injunctive relief in a New York court against a governmental agency.

Representing one of Russia’s biggest banks in bankruptcy proceedings of a construction company.

The case included disputes over the submission and admission of creditors’ claims, reversal of juridical acts, former director’s liability.

Mikhail is experienced in handling strategically important disputes involving sovereign states, major corporations, and private individuals across the oil & gas, construction, transport, retail, and financial services sectors.

He is actively engaged in international academic research in the field of arbitration — in 2024, Mikhail’s article titled “Non-compensable Regulation and Regulatory Expropriation: Where Is the Line?” was published in the prestigious journal Arbitration International, issued by Oxford University Press. Prior to DGP Mikhail was a senior associate with the Litigation & Arbitration practice of one of the largest Russian law firms.
