DGP partner spoke at Litigation Forum

On 18 November, Alina Kudryavtseva, Dispute Resolution Partner at DGP, took part in the Litigation Forum organised by Pravo.ru. This is one of the most authoritative events for litigation lawyers, where experts discuss key trends, share experience, and explore the development of effective litigation tools.

🎤 Presentation: Cross-Border Insolvency

During the Forum’s second session, Alina delivered a keynote presentation titled: «Cross-Border Insolvency: Trends in Russian Practice and Prospects for the Enforcement of Russian Judgments Abroad.»

Her presentation covered:
1.    Insolvency of foreign entities in Russia: current trends in court practice.
2.    Bringing foreign persons to subsidiary (secondary) liability in Russia, including the challenges of holding foreign individuals liable in cases involving the insolvency of the asset pool of a foreign company.
3.    Enforcement in Russia of foreign court decisions on subsidiary liability: analysis of the approaches taken by Russian commercial courts.
4.    Prospects for recognition and enforcement abroad of Russian court judgments in insolvency cases in the current environment.

In her speech, Alina used real case examples to illustrate:

• key trends in the insolvency of foreign entities in Russia;
• how courts approach bringing foreign persons to subsidiary liability in the insolvency of both Russian and foreign companies;
• the prospects for Russian courts recognising foreign judicial acts;
• and whether foreign courts today are prepared to recognize Russian court judgments in insolvency matters.

The session generated significant interest among participants, as the past few years have seen an explosive increase in cross-border insolvency cases in Russia. This trend creates new legal and financial risks for all parties involved: debtor companies, their creditors, and controlling persons. As a result, both businesses and lawyers are forced to seek new solutions and rethink traditional strategies.

🧭 Moderation: Trust Management and Litigation Economy

In addition to her presentation, Alina moderated the fourth session titled «Beyond the Proceedings: How Litigators Manage Reputation, Economics, and Trust.»

The session focused on practical tools that today are no less important than legal arguments. These included building effective litigation teams, optimising litigation costs, and ensuring efficient recovery of those costs. Participants also discussed how legal work is currently structured in international commercial arbitration and what trends are shaping the field of alternative dispute resolution.

The key value of the event lay in its practical orientation. Participants actively analysed real-life examples and mastered concrete tools—from organising litigation workflows to techniques of persuasive courtroom advocacy.
Attendees emphasised the importance of open dialogue and the opportunity to gain actionable insights applicable to their daily practice.
