The II DRC Forum on Management of Construction Contracts and Settlement of Construction Disputes

From April 22 to April 24, 2025, the II Time to Build DRC Forum was held in Moscow, organized by the Dispute Resolution Club (DRC) media group. The forum has become an important professional event, which traditionally takes place with the support of "Dyakin, Gortsunyan and Partners" law firm (DGP). The event gathered more than 200 participants and brought together representatives of port infrastructure, oil and gas, energy, metallurgical and chemical industries, as well as leading experts in the field of settlement of construction disputes, arbitration and legal support of infrastructure projects.

The forum opened with a flagship session dedicated to key Russian projects in the field of port infrastructure. The moderator was Dmitry Dyakin, partner and head of the DGP dispute resolution practice. Participants discussed current trends, challenges and potential causes of conflicts in the construction sector. It was emphasized that construction and infrastructure disputes occupied a significant share of cases considered by international arbitration centers, which confirmed the urgency of the topic.

Particular attention was drawn to the special case study session on the Fennovoima v. Rosatom decision of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court. Vladimir Pestrikov, partner of the DGP dispute resolution practice, on the example of this case spoke about the nuances associated with the inclusion of the Dispute Adjudication Board (DAC) clause in construction contracts. The session aroused keen interest of the participants and provided practical guidelines for the audience.

The Time to Build forum confirmed its status as a leading professional platform for dialogue between lawyers, business representatives, industry experts and government agencies. The organizers announced plans to hold the next forum in 2026 and expressed confidence that interest in the topic will only grow.
