DGP Strengthens Regulatory and Sanctions Practice and Expands Tax Practice
Law firm Dyakin, Gortsunyan & Partners (DGP) announces the appointment of Sergei Eremin as a Partner. Sergei will lead the firm’s Sanctions, Countersanctions and Regulatory Practice. With his arrival, DGP is also significantly expanding its tax practice, which will become an independent practice area within the firm.
Sergei has more than 20 years of experience advising Russian and international companies and private investors. Since 2014, he has specialised, among other areas, in sanctions regulation, including sanctions risk assessments, challenges to restrictive measures and asset unfreezing matters. Sergei also has recognised expertise in international and Russian taxation, tax disputes and corporate investigations. In addition, he has unique experience in advising on transactions involving maritime and aircraft assets, further strengthening the team’s industry expertise.
Sergei’s experience includes advising major Russian banks and industrial companies on sanctions regulation, the impact of sanctions on contractual relationships, business restructuring and redomiciliation, as well as the structuring of cross-border projects.
Before joining DGP, Sergei headed the sanctions and tax practices at a major Russian law firm. Prior to that, he spent more than 15 years working at leading international law firms.
Sergei’s professional expertise has been recognised by leading legal rankings. In particular, he is recommended by Pravo-300 in the areas of sanctions law, tax advisory and tax disputes.
Sergei will be joined at DGP by lawyers Anna Ivonina and Ekaterina Boryabina. They will work alongside Georgy Musatov, Senior Associate, who also has significant expertise and experience in advising Russian and international clients on international taxation and sanctions regulation.
The expansion of the team will further strengthen DGP’s tax and sanctions capabilities and enable the firm to provide clients with prompt and comprehensive support on complex projects.
