DGP Supported 17th Annual Arbitration Conference
On 2 December, Moscow hosted the main arbitration event of the year, the traditional conference organised by the International Chamber of Commerce in Russia (ICC Russia).
This year, the event celebrated the 25th anniversary of ICC Russia, marking a significant milestone and enhancing the conference's ceremonial significance.
Dyakin, Gortsunyan & Partners law firm (DGP) supported the conference as the general sponsor, once again reaffirming its status as a leader in Russia's international arbitration market.
Dmitry Dyakin, head of DGP’s dispute resolution practice, delivered the opening remarks, comparing the current state of international arbitration to the “Game of Thrones” and highlighting the key trends shaping new future of cross-border dispute resolution.
‘The Russian international arbitration market is experiencing a true “golden age”. Despite political turbulence, Russian clients continue to rely heavily on international arbitration mechanisms, and Russian lawyers are demonstrating their ability to provide world-class services. Leading law firms are handling a significant number of major mandates, providing legal support independently and at the highest professional level, and managing any workload, regardless of the scale or complexity of the dispute,” Dmitry noted.
The conference featured leading Russian and international experts in international arbitration, including consultants, in-house counsel, arbitrators and representatives of arbitral institutions.
Vladimir Pestrikov, a partner in DGP’s dispute resolution practice, moderated Session 1, 'Arbitration under sanctions: Outcomes of 2025 and Key Challenges”. Participants analysed the most significant precedents, developments and trends of the past year and shared their views on the future of arbitration in the context of sanctions.
Vadim Vunukainen, a partner in DGP’s Dispute Resolution Practice, participated in the session entitled 'Dispute Resolution Involving Russian Parties in Foreign Courts and Arbitration'. He provided practical insights into challenge procedures and outlined what Russian parties should consider to ensure the formation of a truly impartial tribunal.
The conference once again reaffirmed its status as a key professional platform for discussing pressing issues of international arbitration and demonstrated the high level of expertise of Russian practitioners, as well as the market’s readiness to face new challenges.
