DGP Partners Spoke at Dubai Arbitration Week

On November 10-14, 2025, Dubai hosted the prestigious and internationally renowned Dubai Arbitration Week. This annual event brings together leading dispute resolution experts from around the world.

Dmitry Dyakin, Head of the Dispute Resolution Practice, and Vsevolod Taraskin, Partner at the Dispute Resolution practice, took part in the Week’s program.

On November 11, Dmitry Dyakin spoke at a panel discussion entitled “Addressing Disputes on Russian Energy Interests in the Middle East: Practical Strategies for Lawyers and Experts” organized by the international expert group MASIN.

“Modern cross-border energy contracts involving Russian parties require careful structuring at the drafting stage. It is essential to account for sanctions risks in advance, choose neutral jurisdictions, and provide for effective dispute resolution mechanisms. Only such an approach ensures the enforceability of agreements and the resilience of projects amid a constantly evolving regulatory environment,” — noted Dmitry Dyakin.

On the same day, Vsevolod Taraskin spoke at the key event of the Week — the Dubai International Arbitration Centre Symposium — where, together with leading global experts, he discussed current issues related to the impact of sanctions on dispute resolution involving Russian parties.

The participants addressed some of the most pressing topics, including recent sanctions aimed at undermining investment arbitration in the EU in connection with claims brought by Russian investors over restrictive measures imposed by European states.

Both presentations resonated strongly with the audience and sparked a lively discussion.
